A Mental Health Week workshop for adults — useful, uplifting, real-talk and can-do focused.
These workshops are designed for adults, a Rangatahi-centred workshop will also be available on a separate day. Expect a practical and empowering, NLP-based and Te Ao Māori centric approach to learning/facilitation style.
Anxiety often begins with the story we unconsciously tell ourselves - and while that story is made up, the experience of anxiety is very, very real with symptoms that can include: Racing thoughts, tight chest, trouble breathing, shaking limbs, body and brain 'shutdown' and more. In this interactive session, you’ll learn to change the narrative and take back control with simple tools to break your anxiety pattern.
Across two hours, you will:
* Briefly map the structure of anxiety (mind + body) so it’s no longer mysterious or in charge.
* Explore several different techniques to take back control.
* Play with ways to reframe beliefs and rewrite your inner dialogue (voice, images, meanings).
* Practice grounding, breath, and anchoring for reliable calm.
* Use narrative techniques and pūrākau to help you re-think and stand in your power so you move from fear/stuck toward resourcefulness.
Real tools delivered with warmth and a chance to play and learn how to use them. Discover how you can stay calmer and take back control of your story and mindset - tools that will help you at work and at home.
