A River of Creativity: 40 years of Artsenta

A river of creativity has been released in an exhibition celebrating 40 years of Dunedin’s Artsenta, one of New Zealand’s longest running creative spaces.

From humble beginnings, Artsenta has weathered a multitude of changes in location, directors, board members and health system shake-ups. Through it all, the river of creativity, as represented by its artists, keeps flowing. The exhibition features a wide range of artwork by Artsenta artists as well as exploring its history through interviews with tangata whaiora, past directors and founding members.

This beautiful exhibition creates an immersive experience for the public with multiple projections, large-scale animations, a soundtrack by our artists, poetry and music, as well as interactive displays.

For forty years, Artsenta has been quietly proving something powerful: creativity changes lives.
