Wellesley Create for a Cause ART Week
Date:9:00am to 3:00pm on 27 September - 30 September 21
"At Wellesley, our boys use their hands, their bodies and their brains to create something worthwhile and meaningful to them, as well as something new to be enjoyed by those of us that want to escape for a while – creating something beautiful that will one day be seen in an exhibition, or up on a wall, or heard in a concert, or watched on a stage."
Glen Jorna, Visual Arts Specialist Teacher, Wellesley Independent School for Boys
During ART Week, the entire school engages in making art for three days, allowing the boys the opportunity to have their pieces exhibited at our Residency & Student Art Exhibition. All artwork that is sold at our exhibition will generate donations to the Mental Health Foundation under Wellesley's community service initiative 'Create for a Cause.'
As part of MHAW, the Wellesley boys will be wearing mufti on Tuesday 28th September – they have been asked to wear green in line with the Tuesday ‘Get outside in nature with someone / E puta ki te taiao’ theme. Please bring a gold coin donation to support.
