Launch hui of Whariki Hauora

A wellbeing initiative for people working in the performing industries. A collaboration of actors supported by Mind and Body, Changing Minds, Te Pou Theatre, Auckland Theatre Company and Actors Equity have set up a Peer Support service particularly for the performing industry.

The industry is known as highly stressful and uncertain and mental health and wellbeing is a new conversation that’s started due to a high number of people within the industry taking their own lives recently.

We are hoping that the industry supports the Whariki Hauora charitable fund with regular donations from performances and events that will go directly towards anonymous peer support sessions for performers who may be struggling.
